As introduced in Chapter 3 of our publication When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), there are several “leading indicators” that go largely unnoticed and under-utilized by the average beginner or intermediate investor. Some of these indicators measure human emotion and market sentiment that often determines shorter term price action, while others uncover the true conditions of the economy, institutional buying and selling, and risk levels.

In our monthly “Indicator Insights” blog, we cover the current levels (pertaining to the U.S. economy and/or the S&P 500) regarding several of the easy-to-read gauges we discuss, as well as others, to provide a quick-guide for our readers, with periodic analysis when necessary. The list of indicators, with their updated levels/readings, will be positioned directly below the blog title (as pictured above), with select reviews and commentary.

Our monthly updates in this blog section will include the Fear & Greed index current level (although there will be no commentary, as we dedicate an entire separate weekly blog to that indicator), as well as several additional market psychology related gauges.

Other indicators randomly covered in our blog will include the VIX, the Relative Strength Index (RSI), the Manufacturing Index (ISM), also known as the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), the Advance/Decline Line (ADL), the Mannarino Market Risk Indicator (MMRI), the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Money Flow Index (MFI), the options Put to Call Ratio (PCR), and others as applicable, as well as the Gold to Silver Ratio, which measures the two metals, vs each other, to suggest the better times to buy or sell one or the other. Occasionally, we may also discuss one or more of these indicators regarding specific stocks or ETFs.

Once again, we aim to provide a “one-stop” source for our followers, to summarize and condense all researched information from leading sources, including market analysts, traders, investors, and financial astrologers. As always, it is best to combine a few indicators, charts, and other factors before making your decision to buy or sell, however these have been proven over time to be very useful.
