SIGN LANGUAGE

Aries

As discussed in Chapter 4 of our publication, “When to Buy and When to Sell: Combining Easy Indicators, Charts, and Financial Astrology (available on Amazon), and our Sign Language – Introduction blog dated 3-24-24, the zodiacal signs are part of every individual and business’ birth charts, based on date and time of birth, incorporation, or first public trade date on an equity index.

As documented, the general/mundane zodiac begins with the sign of Aries (as the 1st house), and the houses then move counter-clockwise around the zodiac wheel, until they reach the 12th house, completing the cycle. Also noted is the fact that the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th are the financially focused houses, though others can have minor influences. On our website we will periodically discuss these energies regarding the mundane/general collective and the U.S. Stock Market first trade date chart.

Today’s focus is the sign of Aries, which resides in the 1st house of the zodiac (based on the Aries Rising chart). Aries is an aggression, action-themed sign, symbolized by The Ram, and is a fire, cardinal, male sign, ruled by the planet Mars. This signs’ traits include bold action, courage, decisiveness, and initiating new ideas. As mentioned, whenever a specific sign “season” occurs, the Sun shines its energies and brings it to the forefront, and this Ariesseason” (when the Sun is traveling through the sign of Aries) runs from March 21 – April 19, 2025. U.S. equity markets are often strong near the beginning of Aries “season,” but can fade toward the end.

As noted, the 1st is not one of the financially focused houses of the zodiac, although it does symbolize the leadership of a company. Like Aries, this house is associated with new beginnings, ideas, and the determination to succeed, though patience is not its strong suit. In the financial markets, Aries (the 1st sign) represents industries including military, defense, and steel, which relate to aggressive conflict. With Mars (currently in Cancer) overseeing this sign, sectors in focus continue to include cybersecurity and “defense of the home” related companies. However, Mars current position in Cancer forms a square aspect to Aries, indicating a non-favorable current blend between Mars the aggressor and Mars the protector.

This Aries season contains a few interesting planetary aspects, including both Mercury and Venus positioned in the sign, with both experiencing retrograde action.

The Venus Retrograde, which often results in a quick market pullback, began last weekend (March 1), and will remain through April 12 (most of Aries season). The last occurrence, in late July of 2023, resulted in a lengthy market pullback, as it has on previous occasions. Venus (money) will transit back-and-forth between Aries and Pisces during this time frame, signifying passive-aggressive price action, so be prepared. Once again, it has immediately coincided with a selloff, starting just a couple of days before, which continues through the date of this blog.

The Mercury Retrograde (beginning on March 14) signifies indecisiveness, uncertainty, and price action swings in the equity markets, so expect more volatility at least until early to mid-April as Mercury turns ‘direct” on April 7 (please see our Planet Power – Mercury Retrograde blog, dated 4-1-24, for more details). Combined with Neptune’s ingress into Aries at the end of the month, there continues to be mixed communications, and unclear factors affecting the equity markets.

The planet Mars itself will also creep back into the sign just before Aries season ends, where it visited for the two months prior to its retrograde back into Cancer on January 6. As the ruler returns “home”, it generally strengthens its energies even further.

Finally, the planet Neptune will move into the sign of Aries on March 30, completing its transit through Pisces since April of 2011, although it will return briefly later this year. The “hidden truths” (Neptune/Pisces) that have been recently coming to light are accelerating, and the new administration has been taking aggressive action. They have been met with some strong resistance, however, and Aries season promises to be tumultuous, spilling over into the equity markets.

As mentioned, some sectors to watch for this Aries season as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune occupy the sign, include defense, cybersecurity, steel, and cryptocurrency. If trading short-term, beware any “false breakouts” in either direction in the equity markets. Taking some profits and holding cash for future opportunities continues to be a consideration for the time being, with these constant price fluctuations.

Also, please consider referring back to our Quick Quotes – Sell in May and Go Away blog, dated 4-15-24, as that time of year is again approaching.

Finally, all birth/natal charts are unique, and every individual (or business) possesses its own set of planetary and sign positions in each house.
